  •  Umbrella Bamboo.  Thin, graceful culms and fine pea-green leaves held on long stalks  The young canes are bright green, ageing to deep-green, and finally yellow. It makes a dense, slowly-expanding clump which looks marvellous as a lone specimen, as part of a mixed planting scheme or in a large container.   Exceptionally hardy and somewhat tolerant of wind, it may be used as a screen.

  • This graceful and attractive Bamboo has, light green stems turning yellow-gold when exposed to the sun.  Local name (Japan) Gasan-chiku, Hotei-chiku. (Bamboo of the kingdom of fairies).
     Withstands -20 c. Excellent screen plant. Grows well in pots.

  • This bamboo can be identified through two different features: the base of the many stems zig zag & the inter nodal furrows are marked with a golden line. This bamboo is very hardy -24c but dislikes a windy position. Young shoots are edible. Height 3m to 6m.

  •  Golden yellow stalks irregularly streaked with green, on the base inter node following the inter nodal furrow. The leaves are 10 to 15cm long & are dark green with slight creamy variegation. Hardy to -18c. Beautiful as a potted specimen or in a border. Height 4m to 8m.

  • This is a  hardy and vigorous bamboo with shiny, dark-green culms and elegant dark-green leaves, it is the first bamboo to shoot in spring while a second spurt may occur into autumn. It establishes quickly and is ideal where a fast-growing, dense, green screen is required, in sun or shade. Mature plants are remarkably wind-resistant if given some shelter while young.

  • Often considered be the most beautiful of golden stemmed Bamboos, because the shade vary with the seasons, the sun, exposure and age. Sometimes finely streaked with green at the base, hardy to -18c. Height 3m to 8m. Grow as a specimen in the ground or container.
